Older People's Project

The ultimate aim of the Older People’s project is to improve the quality of life of the elderly BME community and an important component of this is health and well being. Hamara endeavors to employ a variety of methods to enhance self esteem and independence in the longer term.

Hamara attempts to fulfill these aims by:

  • Providing culturally, religiously and linguistically sensitive  care, and practical support for the elderly male members of the BME community
  • Using preventative measures to reduce ill health and alleviate isolation
  • Empower and build confidence through establishing social networks and increasing access to information and advice
  • Promoting healthy living and healthy eating.
